Founded in 1987 to promote economic and employment opportunities in the Chugwater area, CHED's mission is to encourage the sustainability of the current businesses and attract new businesses create employment opportunity and economic sustainability for the Town of Chugwater. CHED is a non-profit 501(c)6 corporation. In 2022 we organized a sister non-profit 501(c)3 corporation - Chugwater Economic Development Foundation, for the purpose of Chugwater area history education and preservation.
CHED is a membership organization. Any person that is a resident or does business is the Chugwater area can join. Dues are $10 per year. Our annual meeting is in October of each year. The members elect a Board of Directors. The current Board of Directors are Karen Guidice, Merwyn Nilson, Josh Hopkins, Jill Graves, and Larry Welty. The Board appointed officers for the ensuing year. They are Philip Ellis, President; Christian Winger, Vice President; and Holly Crowley, Treasurer and Interim Secretary.
We had a good meeting last Tuesday evening. We made plans to have our Annual Meeting on Thursday, Oct 17 at 6PM with a Pie Social and Local Candidate forum. Karen Guidice will coordinate pies (bake two-one to eat and one to auction) and Holly will send notices. More volunteers needed for set up and take down. More details to follow.
Please pay your 2024 dues, if you haven't already. We did not solicit and collect dues at the forum held in October, which was a community event. We did vote to increase dues to $10 per person at our brief annual meeting later in October. All CHED meetings are open to the community. However serving as officer, on the board or voting on action items (all members present at a regular or special meeting can vote on action items) is restricted to members. Please send your $10 dues to our mailing address as follows:
